    1. Re: [TMG] Disappearing role sentences
    2. Lindsay Graham
    3. Thank, John -- I had tried Optimise and VFI many times before I sent my email, but I'll try that again. I've gone too far down the 'no sentences' path to ever back track.  Given that I never use narrative reports in TMG (or a narrative style in SS), I'm reluctant to construct 'real' sentences when I don't know what I'm doing <g>.  But I'll do as you've suggested just in case TMG expects 'real' sentences with variables in them. I will also check the behaviour of other tag types (ones which have not caused role not found errors in SS) to see whether their role sentences disappear or not. Will report back later today. As I do not otherwise use sentences in TMG or SS, the sentence I've added is "Dummy sentence to avoid SS Role not found error".  But the problem is how to add that sentence and make it stick. >> >> There are 6 relevant tag types, 4 custom and 2 standard.  Using the Master Tag Type list, I added the dummy sentence to each role (under the Roles and Sentences tab) for each of the 6 tag types. For 2 of the custom tags, the dummy sentences remained as entered for each role and also remained in the Sentence and Witness Sentence boxes on the first screen of the Tag Type List -- and, for those 2 tag types, the Role not found error did not occur in SS. >> >> But for the other 4 tag types, when I added the dummy sentence to each role and OK'd that screen, the dummy sentence appeared in the Sentence and Witness Sentence boxes.  But when I clicked on Edit again, the dummy sentences had disappeared for all roles.  And, predictably, the Role not found error occurred in SS. >> >> I hope this all makes sense.  Why do the dummy sentences disappear and how do I make them stick?  I know there's a SS involvement, but it seems to be a TMG question and I hope someone can follow this through and help me understand what's happening. >> >> Lindsay Graham >> Canberra, Australia
