Intrigued by the previous discussion on the place list and the place index, I am now exploring this. I had never used the place index before, and I checked Terry's article which was (of course) very useful. I have one question, though. I have many places where I control the output levels for reports with exclusion markers in the place fields. This seems to give me multiple map icons for basically the same place, even if I specify the map link to be the full place. For instance: the following gives me 1 place (all three have [HID:][GEO-PLACE:]Salcombe,, County Devon, England[:GEO-PLACE][:HID] in the Temple Field), but three icons, one for each listing Salcombe,,County Devon, England Salcombe,,-County Devon, England Salcombe,,-County Devon, -England Am I overlooking something, or is this intentional?
