    3. Hi Brian, I am aware of the problem of using these substitution variables with non-standard Place Styles. Essentially, this problem is that [Lx] should be defined for each Place Style as a template to identify what [Lx] means for that Place Style. This means that there is an effectively 1:1 mapping for the US Standard Place Style e.g. [L2] --> [DETAILS] but for another place style [L2] --> [ADDRESSEE], [DETAILS]. It should be thought of as [Level 2] not [L2]. This is the approach that HRE is taking to resolve this problem. The same problem can occur for non-standard Person Name Styles. I realized that the variables [LCI] or [COUNTY] were a little confusing if what was in [L4] was actually a Parish. > > Would anyone like to share their own practices? > > Thanks, > > Brian > The TMG archive is found here: http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/th/index/TMG/ > Instructions on how to subscribe to TMG: http://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/index/other/Software/TMG.html > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message > -- Robin Lamacraft, Adelaide, Australia
