    3. Brian, The sentence variables [L4], [LCN], and [COUNTY] are all synonyms and there is no technical advantage to one over the other. Likewise with [L3], [LCI], and [CITY], and the other sets of names for the part values. I think of those sets as the numbered place variables, the abbreviated place variables, and the unabbreviated place variables. I suggest that you pick one set and use that set consistently. So, use [L3], [L4], and [L5], etc., together rather than mixing [L3] and [L4] with [STATE] and [COUNTRY], etc. When editing a Place Style output template, you should only use the label assigned to a part in that Place Style. So, for example, don't use [COUNTY] in a Place Style output template when you have named that part [PARISH] in the template. At one point, TMG allowed that error and produced the output you might expect, so many users didn't catch it. (That might still be true; I can't recall.) However, according to the formal rules, [COUNTY] has no meaning in a Place Style output template where the label for the 4th part is "PARISH". Second Site follows the rules, and it will issue an error message in that case. You cannot use Place Style labels in sentence templates. So, while [PARISH] is valid in a Place Style output template that has PARISH as a label, [PARISH] is not valid in a Tag Type sentence even if the sentence is assigned to a tag whose place uses a Place Style that includes that label. When editing the project-wide "Short Place Template", I recommend that you use the [Ln] versions, i.e., [L1], [L2], etc. The short place template applies to all places, and those places may have different styles and different uses for the various place parts. Using the non-specific labels may remind you of that, and avoid some issues that might arise otherwise. I hope this helps. John
