I have tried to run Create Book numerous times in the Book Manager. Failed as many times. I have set the book with 17 chapters. Each one is an individual (mostly siblings) with descendants. I have gone thru the Report Definition Screen for each one setting the options for each and saving the settings for Journal Report. Most settings are the same except for the number of generations. I select Create Book and the run starts. It will run the first individual/chapter and keep on running thru all chapters, each individual, to the end and the person count is for all chapters. It will then start running the second chapter and keeps running all the way through. There is no break at the end of each and start with the next chapter/individual. Repeats. I have selected different options in the Master Document Field. Results are the same. This occurred on an old computer. I uninstalled/reinstalled from original disc and ran v9.05. No change. Had to replace the computer and had a total and complete new installation from the disc and ran v9.05. Same story. I have finished my work on three projects and want to finalize them soon (age is upon me). Any help would be appreciated. Thank. Don

Book Manager is designed to run each report as a separate report just as if your ran each separately one at a time. The difference is that Book Manager automates the starting of each subsequent report after each prior report is finished.. You may select to have all reports to run without any interruption 'for confirmation of each report', or whether to 'overwrite the output files' from prior runs. one thing to keep in mind is that for each report that is run, a unique filename must be given to it. That is, for a ten chapter book, the end result should be ten files. These may then be combined into a single "book" file using your word processor if desired. If you do not use unique filename, you will likely wind up with only the last report. You can go to <http://www.tmgtips.com/tmgtutor.htm> where there are two discussions on using Book Manager. One is based on crating the the Related-By Flag. The other comprises the slides from a talk I gave on a TMG Cruise on creating a family book. Both were written for earlier versions of TMG, but (except for the v4 discussion) will work for v9.05. The second might display a notice that your browser may not display it properly, but should work OK for you. If you are still having problems, tell us what the results are for the first few "chapter" reports. Lee

Donald, Why are you using Book Manager? You have to create the individual reports anyway. Why not just run them individually? Book Manager just runs the set all at once. The only value of Book Manager is when you have to run a set of reports repeatedly, when it automates the running of the whole set. Terry Reigel
