    3. Another way to do that is with the Text Macros (on the Tools menu). You can have up to 11 phrases--each assigned to one of the Fkeys. Or you can edit the sentences associated with tags and roles. If that's in the middle of some text in the Memo it appears there. If you have the [M] variable any place other than at the end of the Sentence the citation appears after the text from the Memo. So the citation can refer to the material that came from that Source when other information in the Tag came from other Sources. That said, I don't use or recommend them. There are a couple of disadvantages, like they won't appear in a List of Citations report, nor do they appear in the count of Citations to a Source in the Master Source List. Plus, you have to remember how to format them. I think it's better if you want a citation after a certain part of the information to split it into two separate Tags, and cite each accordingly. 3. Hi to all, I was just wondering what the benefits/advantages are of having an embedded Citation in a Memo. I’ve played with the ability and can find little/no difference in reporting [Journal or Indent with Narrative]. The citation still ends up at the end like any “normal” citation. Have I missed something? Many thanks Andrew Clark

    2. Susan G. Johnston
    3. Jim, I may have misunderstood what you want from your report, but to get a list of all citations from a selected source to events, name tags, and relationship tags, I simply create a LOC report, filtered for that one source. Then, my output columns include: Linked Record; Subject 1; Last, First Linked Record; Subject 1; ID Linked Record; Subject 2; Last, First Linked Record; Subject 2; ID Linked Record; Tag Type etc. Using "Linked Record," as opposed to "Linked Event," "Linked Name," and/or "Linked Relationship," seems to pick up everything. The "Tag Type" column identifies what event tag, name tag, or relationship tag is being documented. Susan Johnston On 7/14/2019 9:07 PM, Don Ferguson wrote: > Sorry Jim, > My error. 2. Terry Reigel
    3. Jim, That's because there is an error in that filter. The brackets automatically appear when there is an OR term. the second AND should be OR. And there should be no bracket at the beginning of the third line. So the filter is: Source Number EQUALS (whatever you want to set it to) AND (Linked Relationship... Child; ID Number Is Greater than 1 OR Linked Relationship... Parent; ID Number Is Greater than 1) END Terry Reigel On 7/14/2019 9:40 PM, Jim Slade wrote: > Don, those filters are exactly what I need. 3. Sorry Jim, My error. To get the ability to enter brackets, you must have at least one AND and one OR in the filter. They way I've written it doesn't qualify (also had an extra bracket that shouldn't have been there) and is probably wrong anyway, depending on what you're trying to do. So try entering it as: Source Number EQUALS (whatever you want to set it to) AND (Linked Relationship... Child; ID Number Is Greater than 1 OR Linked Relationship... Parent; ID Number Is Greater than 1) END When you've changed that 2nd AND to an OR, the place to put the brackets will appear. How about a List of Citations report, set up as: Source Number EQUALS (whatever you want to set it to) AND Linked Name Any Name Field Is Not Empty That should pick up where the source is used for any Name field. Then for Relationships another List of Citations report like this: Source Number EQUALS (whatever you want to set it to) AND (Linked Relationship...
