On my Desktop PC my Exhibits are at: C:\Users\ronch\Pictures\Genealogy Exhibits On my Laptop they are at: C:\Users\Ron\Pictures\Genealogy Exhibits\ When I open TMG on my Laptop I get an error message: "C:\Users\ronch\Pictures\Genealogy Exhibits\" was not found. When I use "Validate File Integrity" it does not capture the exhibits as the "User name" is now different. I have 3184 exhibits. How can I fix this? Ron Chénier

TMG needs windows to run. I don’t believe your tablet is running Windows. Has anyone used TMG on a recent Samsung 10.5 in tablet? Ken Wood

Thank you everyone for your help and suggestions. The turning point for me was Michaels identification of the bug below. Yes, I was using the List of Events, and having changed the tag, I now have a list of the Heads of Household for all my Debenham 1891 Census residents. You can see the final output here http://debenham-ops.org.uk/ui353.htm. I will refine it, as the page is far too long, but at least it established the mechanics involved. A List of Witnesses is the next step. Thank you everyone, Suzie Suzie Morley Suffolk, England =================================== Unfortunately there is a remaining bug in TMG where choosing that option incorrectly still outputs the Primary name instead of the Selected name as is shoud. That is described in my list of remaining TMG bugs: https://www.mjh-nm.net/BUGS.HTML#B09 Instead, as that bug report lists, you must choose the other available option of "Prin1 Last, Given (Selected)" which *will* output the selected married name but unfortunately also appends a comma and the Suffix field. Since you are going to post process the output in Excel anyway, you should be able to work with this slightly different output which at least does give the selected name. Hope this gives you ideas, Michael

Also, Gedstar Pro doesn't need a gedcom. It will create a file directly from your database to load unto your phone. Sheila Altenbernd On 8/10/2019 3:31 PM, David A. What you did not mention, Jack, is whether you ran the maintenance routines.
When I attempt to open a second occurrence of my project, I get the message "Invalid subscript reference". I have other projects for which I am able to open a second occurrence of the project.?? I have been able to open multiple occurrences of this project in the past. I have opened the .PJC file, using wordpad, and I do not see anything obviously incorrect with the file. Has anyone else experienced this problem? -- Jack D. Lovelace
Lee You must have a similar model keyboard to mine, as mine also sometimes has a mind of its own and enters things I don't intend. ;-) *Bruce Fairhall* ===clipped=== My keyboard seems to have a mind of its own and constantly enters wrong data. I am guessing that I may >have unchecked the "Validate LAT/LONG value" for that reason. For me personally, I have the option checked. I prefer using the DDMMSSNDDDMMSSE format rather than one of the decimal formats as I understand it better. TMG automatically converts this to the correct decimal values. But since anything more than 180 degrees, 59 minutes, or 59 seconds is obviously wrong, TMG tells me about it so I can correct it immendiately. My keyboard seems to have a mind of its own and constantly enters wrong data. The validate option lets me find many such errors. <g> Lee
Carol Hornung wrote: > So, am I correct in assuming that, if it is highly unlikely I will be > adding any southern hemisphere locations, I can safely leave the Validate > option checked? Carol, Yes, I think it's OK to leave it checked. If you happen to enter southern hemisphere coordinates, perhaps you'll notice the out-of-place "\" and fix it manually. Personally, I have that option off because I'm very familiar with the syntax and I don't need TMG's help with it. Also, when TMG used a different format (v7 and prior), the format was limited to degrees-minutes-seconds, and I forced decimal degrees into the LatLong field because Second Site supported decimal degrees and that format is more accurate. I am guessing that I may have unchecked the "Validate LAT/LONG value" for that reason. John
So, am I correct in assuming that, if it is highly unlikely I will be adding any southern hemisphere locations, I can safely leave the Validate option checked? Thx. ~Carol > I also found the "Validate LAT/LONG value" option in the Program Options > Prompts section. That appears to be the culprit. With that checked, TMG adds the "\" character when it validates a lat/long value. Unfortunately, it adds the "\" in the wrong place. If you correct it and put the "\" in the correct place, TMG leaves it alone. > > So, there is a TMG bug. When the "Validate LAT/LONG value" preference is checked and the user enters a negative latitude (for the southern hemisphere), TMG adds the "\" character in an attempt to prevent the minus sign from being interpreted as a single-exclusion marker, but does so incorrectly and adds it as the second character when it should be first. The user may fix it manually by moving the "\" to the first character in the value. > > John
