Michael, The user enters "-12.123456,123.123456". TMG replaces the leading "-12" with "-\12". There is no reason to make that change. The "1" (or whatever digit is first) does NOT need to be escaped. I admin that I am only presuming what TMG probably intended to do but using an escape character is a BIG clue: the only reason to add an escape is to avoid interpreting the leading hyphen as an exclusion marker. If I am wrong, then the TMG behavior is still a bug, but it's a more embarrassing one because the result is a completely useless change that will confuse users. John

Within the conditional brackets insert some leading text (e.g. a space) which will prevent the preposition, like: Anita graduated <[D]> from < [L1]><[M]> You will then get: 'Anita graduated in 1959 from Jefferson Davis High School' Hope this helps, Michael

    3. Preliminary: google cascade windows. New information. I have had cascaded windows open in WordPerfect in the past. Now to try google directions on TMG. That did work. Which gets back to-- why were my preferences changed? But that doesn't matter. Thanks for the suggestion!

    3. New computer, TMG installed, and most everything seems to be okay...so far. I've chosen Microsoft Print to PDF, but my reports are being saved to a temp file AND they have an .rtf extension. I'm not finding an option as to where I would like to report to go. On my old computer (also Windows 10), it would show up in my task bar, but not so on my new computer. I don't ever remember having to choose a place for the report to be sent, and it was so simple to just open the file from the task bar. I tried this with CutePDF also with the same problem resulting. I'm having the same issue with Screen Preview, which used to "pop" right open. Judy Madnick Albany, NY

I am now not so sure this is a bug, as this data may have been intended by the user to be a single excluded LatLong value. But I have added a more full description of this action to my posted list of outstanding bugs since the automatic addition of the escape character can easily go unnoticed. See the new bug entry titled: "A Negative Latitude entered in the LatLong Place field requires a leading Escape character" https://www.mjh-nm.net/BUGS.HTML#B107 Michael

Sounds like standard Windows action to me. Hovering over a Windows Taskbar item and having a thumbnail image appear indicates that application is open and running. But it may or may not be active (that is, it may be showing on the screen or it may be minimized). Either way, clicking on the Taksbar item will cause that application to be the focus of Windows and display on the screen and be active. The thumbnail that you see is just the small image of the full screen version of the application (e.g., TMG in this case). The thumbnail is not meant to be read. It just helps you know which application is running. What repair are you needing to do? Lee

Second (actually, this is likely also how you would do the first) is to find TMG in the Windows start menu and start it from there. 1. [TMG] Master Place List - Start/End Dates
    2. Carol Hornung
    3. Would like suggestions on using the Start/End dates in the Master Place List. Let's assume I have checked the four File > Options > Program Options > Warnings: "Warn when date/place..." options. I'd like to clean up entries where boundary changes have taken place over the years. Example: I've repeatedly entered CITY-A with County = COUNTY-A and no Start/End dates specified. Now I find out it was in COUNTY-A until Apr 1818, then in COUNTY-B from May 1818 to Sep 1887, then back to COUNTY-A in Oct 1887. I've run a List of Events reports for events where City contains CITY-A and Date>Comes After = 1 MAY 1818 AND Date>Comes Before = 1 SEP 1887 to get a list of 132 events where County/Label4 needs to be changed from "COUNTY-A" to "COUNTY-B." Hoping to avoid one-by-one changes, I see my only option for Secondary Output in LOE report is to change a flag. In TMG Utility > Other > Find & Replace, there is no option to change COUNTY, and Change Place Parts lets me target "If any place part contains CITY-A" but doesn't then give me a FLAG option (if I were to have set one in LOE Secondary Output). Any thoughts on how I can use a batch process to make these changes? Once I've made the changes, I assume I will have two entries for CITY-A in my Master Place List, and would add the appropriate Start/End dates (or 0) for each. Sure would be nice if the effective Start/End dates would shown in the F2 picklist for future entries... Would appreciate suggestions, as well as hearing how others use this feature. Thanks! ~Carol
