You mean that you want to create a List of Persons (LOP) based on certain criteria with the end result being that you want to Accent those person's surnames? Let's start with the Accent Definition screen ([CTRL+A]). Select to Accent by the First or All Conditions (you can change this later). At this point you want to create the Accent Condition(s). There are a couple of ways to do this: 1. Define each condition much like you would a similar filer for the LOP report the Project Explorer, or a Focus Group. The disadvantage of this is that if the data changes then TMG must re-calculate all Accent Conditions all over again. 2. A better option would be to based the Accent on a Custom Flag setting. These change less and are simpler for TMG to re-calculate when they do change. Thus you can create the LOP Report Definition filter and then select to Change Flag in the Secondary Output tab of the Report Definition. Once the Custom Flag is created and then set, set up the Accent Definition using that Flag. Note that there may be many possible Flag setting -- each of which may be one condition with a different color combination. Lee

    3. Thanks Michael, I have run that filter. I only have 15 and two have been corrected already. I haven't checked them all, I don't know if they all need to be corrected/changed. Now I need more help. In my infinite wisdom of youth (now long gone) I set up custom tags for census. Example: Cen 1850, Cen 1860, etc. This change is easy but I need to find the few that I have missed. Then I want to delete those tags. Just tried it and it said I can't delete Cen 1850 because there are two tags in use. Need to find all that I missed. Lee, I am aware that I can change these tags in John's utility, but I am computer illiterate - I am embarrassed to admit I can't find a way to open TMGU. When first looking I found a page that told me to contact John if I needed help. I could never find that page again. I would have contacted him if I could have done so. 3. Here's a thought. This may not be the best solution even if it is posssible. If using the TMG Utility, why not make a focus group of the persons needing to be changed. Export the focus group, make global change and import back to original. Deleting persons in the focus group from the original after the export. You certainly want to do a backup prior to any changes and possibly try a trial run. It is a trial and error type of solution. 3. Greg Cooke; "The goal is to eliminate all the formatting, extra space, etc.-- for example, compress a 15 generation lineage to fifteen lines." I'm a TMG user since 1995 and have tested the TMG v9.05 direct line chart report/relationship calculation with a royal kings project (from king Jean Bernadotte to present king Harald of Norway). TMG's relationship calculator shows two relations btw Jean and Harald: 3rd great-grandfather and 4th great-grandfather. The Relationship Chart report only shows the 4th ggfather direct line in a semi graphic format with "boxes" and many data lines. Since "TMG's death" late 2014 I've been testing several alternatives to TMG, which is getting older and more behind every month now. The same data project was imported from TMG into RM, FH, Legacy and Heredis2017. Heredis is more flexible, advanced and as powerful as TMG and shows three more relationships and also have a report with one line per generation: Relationships between Jean and Harald Other Relatives (5) 1. a direct ancestor (5G) 2. a direct ancestor (6G) 3. a direct ancestor (6G) 4. the great-grandfather of the son-in-law of the great-grandfather 5. the great-grandfather of the son-in-law of the great-grandmother FAMILY CONNECTION DETAILS 1 Jean Baptiste (1763-1844) father of Oscar I (1799-1859) father of Oscar II (1829-1907) father of Carl (1861-) father of Märtha (1901-1954) mother of Harald (1937-) The same type of simple report can be shown for relationship 2,3,4 and 5 above. 3. A little experimenting shows that: 1. The Relationship Chart (RC) does show multiple relationships between cousins. My wife & I are cousins many times over, and the report output does show that. 2. RC does not show more than one direct descent between two people (yes I'm using 9.05). I can get it to show the longest line of descent between two folks, or the shortest, but none of the others, and neither on the same report. On Sat, Feb 18, 2017 at 7:15 PM, Susan G.
