    1. [TMG] Cannot add a new tag. I can now
    2. Bruce Dodd
    3. Hi, Listers Many thanks to the several friends who rushed to my rescue over the past week. I located my cache of relevant documents and the various serial numbers. Thanks to Terry's advice, TMG9.04 is up and running properly. Those serial numbers are now stored in several places including the tricks suggested by my rescuers. Windows 10 , however, has signaled its displeasure by announcing a sudden inability to find FindMyPast.com. All this was more than usually important just now. Last Sunday I was promoted to Great-grandfather status, and I felt I had to get TMG going so as to make her ladyship official. Thanks again to my 'first responders'. Bruce Dodd Ottawa

    3. Eric, No, you cannot attach a hotkey combo to the ID search feature. When you key an ID number into the textbox, you can press enter to navigate to the person, but that is the only shortcut available. For the shortcut icon/favicon, see this help page: http://ss.johncardinal.com/shortcuticon.htm That help page includes a link to some Microsoft information. Note that the only information on the MS page that applies in the SS case is the information about the format of the icon, and suggestions for how to create the icon. SS takes care of the other details, such as including the necessary HTML. John

I have updates Preferences/Current Project to the new locations. However, the individual exhibit locations retain the old path. I can change the location for each exhibit and have tried that for one exhibit, it works. I have 288 exhibits and want to see if there is a more global method. Thanks Bruce

    3. Thanks everyone, TMG is currently running VFI looking for all my images (100GB). Set up has been fairly straight forward except for that little bit of time I selected a layout that puts TMG on a secondary monitor and then couldn’t close it because there wasn’t a secondary monitor. ☹ But I got that fixed and now am working on getting to the task I wanted to be doing all day today. Oh well, at least I am back in business. From: Teresa Elliott Sent: Monday, May 29, 2017 6:01 PM To: The Master Genealogist Rootsweb Email List Subject: Re: [TMG] Tmg download Thanks! Phil, You can tell which version the installer you have as shown in the screenshot at http://tmg.reigelridge.com/future.htm#wait There is no need to find any "updates" as there haven't been any for many versions of TMG. Each "update" was actually a full installer, which installed the full program. So all you need is the installer for the last version. Terry Reigel

    3. Long ago I saved tmg7setup.exe. But I wonder if that will (when and if ever needed) will give me version 7.00 or version 7.04??? I of course have also saved the serial number and email address used when purchased. I believe is also saved the the various updates to 7.04 - but would have dig through some very old disks and/or backups to find them. In the end, to recover from a disaster, do I need more then tmg7setup, email address, and serial? If I need the upgrades, is it possible to get some where online? FWIW - TMG v7.04 has been working quite well on Windows 10 with very minor easily overcome glitches. 3. Thank you, Mike and Michael. This time, though Mike might well have been right it was Michael who hit the nail squarely on the head. I was forced to get a new laptop a while ago and with it came a pestilence named Windows 10. Not all the plagues are listed in Exodus. The current annoyance is that I had already read and printed the very paragraph Michael recommended, and then failed to recognized the malady when it happened to me. I think I'm no longer always fit to be out by myself. Now I need only find the safe location of the serial number, etc. Thanks again. Bruce Dodd Ottawa

    3. I have had no problems with my TMG on Windows 10 (which I'm learning). And I found the serial # in the form for sending a problem to tech support. Help - Technical Support - Trouble Report. Or Help - About TMG. Then I copied and pasted to a Word Doc, so I'd always have it, even if my TMG wouldn't let me in. 3. Eric, You said you are up to version 3. Did you mean version 3 of your SDF file? You can delete SDF files and associated folders using Windows Explorer. There will be several items associated with an SDF file: 1 - The SDF file itself, for example, "mysite.sdf". 2 - The input and output folders: 2.1 - mysite-i 2.2 - mysite-o 3 - The log file from the last "Make Site", "mysite-log.htm". Be careful. John
