    1. [TMG] Inability to create Relationship Chart solved
    2. Joan Lince via
    3. In Control Panel, Devices and Printers, I set the Wholly Genes PDF writer to a nul port. The Relationship Chart now runs just fine. I assume also all other reports with PDF output. I think that what caused the problem was an automatic update from Microsoft, possibly having to do with One-Note's need for a printer port. Joan Lince

    3. What about the TMG reports (such as the Relationship Chart) that can print to no other format than PDF? 1. [TMG] TMG 9.05 and Windows 10 - update
    2. Don Ferguson via
    3. Further to the recent discussions of TMG Win10 compatibility, I can report that TMG 9.05 runs fine on Windows 10 Preview 10030 (which was last week's release of the preview). I do not expect that situation to change, as the developers are past the 'add features' stage and are in 'bug-fixing' mode leading up to the July 29 release date. Having said that, there is one issue I've struck, namely PDF printing would seem to be a complete no-no. I know some people have never got PDF print working on Windows 7 or previous, but personally I've never had any issues. The 'normal' fixes recommended for this problem do not work under Win10 - I've tried them all, I think. Just to recap, TMG's PDF printing is done through a 3rd party product from Amyuni, and TMG 9.05 uses v4.0 of that product. In answer to a user query in April, Amyuni stated that: "We recently started testing our version v5.0 of the Amyuni PDF Converter on Windows 10 and have not encountered any issues. At this time we have no plans to support version v4.5x on windows 10. We are aiming to release our next major upgrade v6.0 with windows 10 certification to coincide with the windows 10 release." >From this I conclude that TMG's PDF printing is probably never going to work under Win10. 3. I've been using both CutePDF (freeware) and Nitro Pro 8 (came on my Lenovo) to create PDFs. CutePDF acts as a printer, so is transparent to any program. I just created about 18m of box charts for a family reunion, all in 508m-wide pages to be printed on a plotter, and that worked fine. (BTW, I used to use PDFCreator, but I couldn't work out how to get page settings for a plotter. For CutePDF this is no problem.) If you open the Sentence Structure window (by clicking on the [Sentence] button) the Sentence will show in the field labeled "Sentence Structure (Default)". If you then modify that Sentence and save the change then the changed Sentence(s) will display under the [Sentence] button and re-opening the Sentenced Structure window will have a new label for the field showing "(Custom)" instead of "(Default)".
