So if you are looking for persons with multiple parental relationships, this would not be the way to go. But it can be useful otherwise. Lee
Hi List I have not made new TAG since V9, and I have a problem with a error message "The role variable [RF:with Parents] either has the role name misspelled or the role does not exist." I have been trying to create a 1850 US Census TAG like Terry's to replace the current TAG that I'm using. I have set up the following role: Principal, one Son, one Daughter, RF:with Parents, RF:with Father, RF:with Mother, and Witness. (Role were copy from the the sentence to New Role form.) I have copy from Terry's Web page to notepad, (to lose any HTML code) then to TMG TAG. I copy the role to with Parents, with Father, with Mother with no errors. I can copy the male sentence to Principle with no error, but when I try to copy to the female sentence, as I click the cursor when it over the female sentence box I get the error message above. I have check the spelling, and I have not found any misspell role. from role RF:with Parents RF:with Parents from sentence The output sentence is missing for RF:with Parents when children are listed with parents, also when children listed with father no Output sen. I do have Snipping Image of the TAG and error message. Any help appreciate. Robert

Assuming you mean a specific tag type, like Death, a List of People report with the filter Death... Date Is empty should do it. (Replace "Death..." with whatever tag type you're interested in.)

Ron, Which Tag? You can build a filter for Date is empty for any given Tag Type, or any Tag in a given Tag Type Group with the List of People report. But not for just any Tag at random. The List of Events report will let you search for event tags with an empty date. The List of Names will let you search for empty dates in Name Tags. For ether of these you can include in the output the name and/or ID # of the person(s) who are Principals in the Tag. Depending on what you are trying to do, one of those should work. Terry Reigel
I have been running TMG 9.05 on a Win 7 laptop ever since it was released without difficulty. However, now I can not open any of the report generators, I get the following error message "OLE error code 0x80040154: Class not registered 70 REPORTOBJ.MRUNRPT". The 70 value varies depending on which report I try to open. I have uninstalled and reinstalled TMG without fixing the problem. I also uninstalled the PDF printer. -- Mike Brickner
Karl Lehman noted a problem with the "# of Parents" Filter. > I searched the TMG list archives and found related topics > but nothing that addressed my problem specifically. Yes, Karl, this bug has been around for a while and never did get fixed before development ceased. It is is my list of remaining bugs: http://www.mjh-nm.net/BUGS.HTML#B52 That entry notes this Filter does not work with the Project Explorer, but I am not surprised it also does not work with the List of People. I will update the bug report to include that. I notice, Karl, that you discovered on your own the workaround identified in that report of combining "# of Mothers" and "# of Fathers" Filters to focus on the appropriate people. I created and posted this list of remaining bugs specifically for users to search who encounter behavior in TMG they think may be a bug. Hopefully it will be useful in addition to searching the Archives. Michael
The tags associated with an individual will fall into several "tag groups," primarily relationship tags, name tags, and event tags. Event tags include births, deaths, marriages, etc. (I'm ignoring the address and history tag groups which I doubt are relevant to your question). Relationship tags don't have dates. To find the event tags with no date run a List of Events report with the filter Date ... Is Empty ... END and include Prin 1 ID and Prin 2 ID among the output columns in report options. A similar report for List of Names will find the undated names, which may be most of your names since primary names are typically undated. -----Original Message----- From: tmg-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:tmg-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Family Researcher via Sent: Monday, August 10, 2015 7:51 AM To: TMG List Subject: [TMG] Empty Date Field in Tag Entry screen Morning List Can someone tell me if it is possible and more so how to produce a list of individuals where the date field in the tag entry is empty?
Tonight I was re-reading Terry's "Research Tags" and John's "Tag Type Definition: Roles and Sentences" AGAIN to try to work out why when I go to my TEST site and click RESEARCH at the top of the top of the MAIN PAGE I do not get any links! I am embarrassed that I had obviously forgotten what I had done previously when, as I stated in my email to the SS list. ... A while ago my Windows XP computer which had both TMG and SS crashed completely and after some time both my wife and I each got a Windows 8.1 computer and, although I had previously saved the TMG and SS programs and backups, it took some time to get the programs going again. .. I went back again to one of my latest individuals on SS>Pages>User Items>RESEARCH and went to Flag Values>Flag and put it as relatedjimbev because this was one of the flags that I used when I was adding my latest group of new family individuals. Then when I clicked RESEARCH at the top of the top of the MAIN PAGE I did get the correct links. I think that because I had not done any work about a year on both TMG and SS I had forgotten what I had done previously :( Because I can now go to the latest new family group of individuals and tick the Research flag for those who need it I can now get those individuals fixed up :) Just one problem about those individuals whom I added after I got my two programs up and running on my new computer. While I can remember those family members whom I have just added, I am worried that there may be other individuals whom I have added who have a RESEARCH tag but they have a N on their Individual Detail charts and I can't work out a Filter that would let me find out which individuals have a Research entry but have not got a Y on their Individual Detail Chart TIA Embarrassed Jim. ; ;

Thanks, Terry. I can work around it with # of Mothers and # of Fathers. Marina, Are the five items in the Pictures folder of the type that TMG can use as exhibits, such as jpg, tif, etc? If not, you won't see them in the TMG Add Exhibits dialog even though you can see them with Windows Explorer. If you click the Add button in the TMG Exhibit Log you get the "Select file for new exhibit" window where you can navigate to the desired folder. At the bottom right of that window is a drop down list (showing "All Exhibits" before you drop it down) which lists all the file types that TMG can use as exhibits. If the folder you are inspecting does not contain any files of those types you won't see any available to select. -----Original Message----- From: tmg-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:tmg-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Marina Dececo via Sent: Sunday, August 09, 2015 2:07 PM To: tmg Subject: [TMG] Adding exhibits I just opened a new project in TMG 9.05 and am trying to add a vital record to a person. I searched the TMG list archives and found related topics but nothing that addressed my problem specifically. I was inspired by the discussion of parentless people to create a flag called NumParents with values of ?,0,1,2,M (with obvious meanings). I then planned to use the Secondary Output feature of List of People to set this flag appropriately for the people in my project. However, I'm having problems with the "# of Parents" test in my LOP filters. The filter works fine when I use # of Parents Equals 0 END However, when I use the following test # of Parents Equals 2 END I get no output (i.e. 0 persons pass the filter). I also get no output for the following test # of Parents Equals 1 END If I instead use # of Mothers Equals 1 AND # of Fathers Equals 1 END I get correct output for people with both parents. I also get correct output for people with only one parent using (# of Mothers Equals 1 AND # of Fathers Equals 0 )OR (# of Mothers Equals 0 AND # of Fathers Equals 1 )END Since I've not seen this reported as a bug, I'm assuming pilot error. Am I misunderstanding how "# of Parents" works? Thanks, Karl Lehman

First time I ran TMG after upgrade I also got the message saying I had the trial version. So I closed TMG and ran as administrator but then didn't get the message, so I couldn't register. Dennis, If your digital camera doesn't record EXIF (Exchangeable image file format)geotagging <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geotagging> data, you might want to contact your camera's manufacturer. An add-on might be available -- either hardware or software. If that doesn't work, look atmapper.acme.com <http://mapper.acme.com/> to see if it helps you. My parents' tombstone is at N 38.81987 W 77.67166. (I can find that family cemetery on just about any map, and Acme Labs gives the Lat-Long in the little green box on the bottom right.) On the other hand, i know that my grandparents are buried in the very large Pinelawn Memorial Park (N 40.74664 W 73.40012). There were no laptop computers, wifi, or Google/Acme maps when i was last there in 1966. But if i were to go there today with my laptop and wifi, while looking at their gravesites, i'd zoom into where i'm standing and read the coordinates from the map. Hope this is useful. Pat Fletcher
