    1. [TMG] Individual detail reports -- table corruption
    2. Lindsay Graham
    3. Using TMG 9.05 and Windows 10. Having trouble printing multi-page IDRs.  I create in RTF but if the report is longish (more than 2 pages), the file creation stops (variously after 2, 3, 4 or 5 pages) and the Microsoft Word error message is "A table in this document has become corrupted". Screen preview option is fine -- the whole report appears. Searched archives and could find only one reference to this problem, back in 2012.  Jim Byram suggested reset the report configuration to defaults.  I did that -- file was OK then, but much shorter version (eg, because no footnotes) and not what I want.  I then changed the configuration back to my preferred style, and the same error occurred. Has anyone else encountered this?  With IDRs other reports?  Any workarounds? Lindsay Graham Canberra, Australia

    3. If you have not noticed my prior message, Rootsweb is shutting down all email lists on 02-Mar-2020. Upon receiving that notification in January, I immediately set up a new list over on Groups.IO and invited all current members to join. We currently have 580 members. If you have not joined, I invite you to join us at Groups.IO. You will need to set up an account (extremely easy) and then click on the *Subscribe *button at this link: https://groups.io/g/TMG-L Discussions are already underway and should not be continued at Rootsweb since we cannot transfer our list archives and will need to rebuild our knowledge base. Rootsweb says that the list archives will be kept but I have no idea how long they will keep them. The lists are currently unstable and have been going up and down for the last week. You should be coping it from the text file you saved in a safe place on you computer that gets backed up regularly off your computer, and pasting it in the unlock screen. > Can anyone > recommend a fix? 3. Purchased new computer with W10. Installed TMG V9.01 with no issues. Restored a particular family again with no issues. Upon trying to open this family found that the project file was from an upgraded program...meaning TMG V 9.05. So...installed TMG V 9.05. When I attempted to open the restored file, it was nowhere to be found and more importantly the program wanted to find an "ocx" file...not a ".pjc" file. I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times but with no luck. Suggestions? -- Roger N. Whiting

As other have said, retaining the Burial Tag, but using a Custom Cremation Role is one option. Most have suggested creating the Role and then individually changing the Role in eachg Tag. This may or may be something you can work with depending on how many such Tags are involved. A simpler option is to use the TMG Utility. In either case, first create a Custom Flag (named say Cremated) and use the List of Events report Secondary Output to set the Flag as desired filtering for Burial Tags having Cremation in the Memo field. Now, create the Custom Role or the Custom Tag as you think best. Then close TMG and open the TMG Utility. If you want to change the Tag Type, select the Events=>Change Event Type. Select the Burial Tag as the 'from' Event, the Cremation Tag as the 'to' event. (You can change Role usage at the same time if needed although this is probably not necessary). Now, click on the [Set Flag Filter] button to didplay the Set Flag Value Filter window. Select the Custom 'Cremation' Flag (or whatever Flag you created. Keep the Include option and enter the Valuess that you set using the List of People report.. Click [OK] to save these changes and close the window. Now run the TMG Utility twice. The first time it is run, make sure the Log Only option is selected, and click on the [Change Event Type] button. Now review the results in the report. If the report is satisfactory de-select the Log Only option and run the report a second time to make the actual changes. Changing the Role usage instead of the Tag is similar in TMG Utility. Choose Roles=>Change Role. Select the Burial Tag in the event type, choose the Old Role to be changed and set the New Role to be used. Again Set the Flag Filter and run the report twice in the same way as above by clicking on the [Change Role] button (Log Only first and de-selected second). Lee

    3. True, often people are cremated and then later interred (my own father, for instance); but this is still something that could work as a Burial role. Sentence being something like John Doe was cremated and the urn was buried on 1 January 2020 at Pleasant Cemetery. Not that some people wouldn't prefer two separate tags--that is an individual choice. I don't think my family paid much attention to the date my father was cremated (I didn't, and I was involved), but we did a memorial ceremony a few months later. Now, I do have a separate Funeral tag which has a Memorial role for that type of event. It all depends how you want things, as is the case with so much in TMG. 3. Hi Bob, I'll let someone else cover whether you can turn every Burial tag mentioning cremation into a separate Cremation tag, but have you considered just making a Cremated role for your Burial tag? You may have good reasons for not wanting to use multiple roles, but if not, the main reason I can see for avoiding putting a Cremated role on a Burial tag would be if you anticipate having reason in the future to keep the two really separate (like outputting one and not the other).
