Cuz Luther- I am honored to be accepted into the esteemed society of the "Order of the 'Possum Egg". It is my understanding that the eggs of this wily and intelligent marsupial are rare indeed, and that few have ever even seen one, much less be awarded Two of them ! Perhaps this derives from their nocturnal habits.I am also led to believe that, since the 'possum originated in the Great Okefinokee Swamp of Southeastern Georgia (as everyone who reads "Pogo" knows), one must be descended from the original "Swampers" who settled that pristine piece of heavenly real-estate in order to be eligible for such an award.Perhaps, too, those settlers learned of the 'possum's nightly sojourns on one of their many evening episodes with head-light in search of lost deer to place in accepting homes. My own Father was awarded the prestigious " 'Possum Egg, with the Fat Lightered Torch Clasp" for his many years of work on behalf of such misplaced whitetails. In fact, local and state game officials pursued him for years before they were able to interest him in the award. But, graft and corruption reign supreme - can you imagine that they demanded his gun, car, and $500 in exchange for it ? I will retain this notification in my family archives to pass down to my progeny. Sorry, but I can't help out on Peter Griffin's sister. -Cuz OJ hickox@3n.net ---------- > From: Luther Thrift <boggybay@gate.net> > To: hickox@3n.net > Subject: Re: John Thrift and "Pender John" > Date: Wednesday, February 02, 2000 8:55 PM > > Dear O.J., > That's 10 points and 2 'possum eggs for you.
