    3. All I have on my great grandfather is that his name was Thomas Edward Thorne b. 1846 in London. His mother's name was Sarah Chandler. He married Anne Devine Davis and he came to America after 1889. He lived in Mass. died May 21, 1926 in South Attleboro, Mass. Had two daughters Elizabeth and Sara Eliza. Family story is that he worked in the king's stables. Probably cleaning the stalls. They were Church of England and poor working class people. They left London abt. 1880 and moved to Ashton under Lyne, Lancashire and then came to America. In Lancashire they attended St.. John's Church in Hurst. Their daughter Sarah (my grandmother) and a cousin Annie Hayes came together to Mass. and worked and saved money and then sent for the parents to come. That is all I know. Can anyone help? Would love to know if my original Thorn actually was born in Suffolk or if he came from elsewhere but haven't got that far yet.
