Good Morning List, Since we're having somewhat of an unofficial roll call of sorts, I thought it was the perfect time to post my brick wall. Hopefully someone will recognize my names. Martha Ann Richardson, born 7 Nov 1854, Springfield, MO. Married Perry Wayne Wesley Thorne. Perry Wayne Thorne was born in 1850, died in 1924 in Trinity County, TX Perry Wayne Thorne was born in Nashville, Tennesse but his family moved to Kentucky (location not known) when Perry was very young. We THINK Perry's father was named Hilyard Thorne. There's some family members that think it was JAMES Hilyard Thorne. Wife unknown. Do any of you have Thorn/Thornes that were in Kentucky in the 1850s or 1860s? Amy McCroskie Denver, CO

Hi Amy: I have Thorns (although i don't know too much about them back to far) that came to Tenn, then Ky, at least part of them did. They first appeared in Dickson Co, TN, which is close to Davidson Co (Nashville) then my gggrandfather Daniel Wade Thorn came to Caldwell (now Lyon Co. Ky) about 1853. According to all family members and stories, Daniel Wade Thorn's father was a William Thorn and his mother was an Esther Wade. Esther was supposedly a rich stove manufacturers daughter from PA. I have been unable to prove this and don't know how much truth there is to it. I do know somewhere I have seen the name Hillyard mixed up in this family. There have been several people on the list who say Daniel Wade Thorn's father was a John Thorn, but I just can't believe this. Daniel Wade Thorn married a Sarah Caroline Green, whose father was a Wesley Green, who was married to a Gentry. I do have children's names of Daniel Wade and Sarah Caroline Green Thorn, if you think there is a connection.
