Good Morning List, I just made a fabulous discovery in my research and hope one of you can help me. In the 1850 census for Dickson County, Tennessee, I found the following family listed: 777 - 777 James Thorne, age 47, male, wagonmaker, born in North Carolina; Susan Thorne, age 45, female, born in Tennessee; Catherine, age 25, female, born in Tennessee; Ann J., age 21, female, born in Tennessee, Hilliard, age 15, male, farmer, born in Tennessee, Annabelle (?), age 12, born in Tennessee, another child I can't read name or age, born Tennessee; William age 6, male, born in Tennessee, Columbus, age 4, male, born in Tennessee I have been searching for my gg-grandfather, Hilliard or Hilyard Thorne for many years. His son, my g-grandfather was Perry Wayne Wesley Thorne. Perry was born in 1850 near Nashville, Tenn, so this is NOT the right Hilliard Thorne above... he's too young to be my gg-grandfather. I DO believe however, this family is related. The names Hilliard and Columbus Thorne have been repeated through my family for many generations.
