At last some discussion on this board - I for one am keen to see it - those who have differing personal views have a clear option. I have a web site ( www.thorn.uk.co ) where I am trying to piece together the Thorn / Thorne families, particularly in England. Most of my research has been on my own lines in and around Buckinghamshire, I am trying to make my site a repository for other Thorn / Thorne data and other (currently) unconnected family lines, in England. I've seen American Thorn / Thorne sites; English sites are a bit thin on the ground. I have back to abt. 1750 on my site (fully researched and with source data available). I'm currently immersed in connecting another Buckinghamshire line which spread branches of Thorne's across the Atlantic - I'll then be back to 1684. I would like to hear from anyone who believes they are connected, has information they wish to share or published on the site. Good luck to you all in search of our roots. David, this is so interesting - my paternal line is the Thorne line and my maternal line is the Birch line - the Birch's are traced to Penn, Buckinghamshire! My Birch married a Plaistowe from Wycombe. There is an old historical church that used to belong to my Plaistowe line.....
