Elmer, I don't know who my Jacob's parents were. I only know he was born in Virginia. He was born May 19, 1788, and died in Pickaway Co. on August 20, 1869. He married Lavina Dines in Ross Co., Ohio on April 8, 1913. He was on the Ross Co. census in 1820 & 1830. He bought some property in Ross co. in 1840 and between 1837 & 1849 there was 4 Thorn/es that acquired property in Ross Co. Oh. Their names were John , Robert, Jacob, & Isaac W. Thorn/e. I was so hoping that there was a connection between our Thorn/es. I have been searching for my line for a long time. Barbara Holbrook

Barbara , Three of the four Thorns you mentioned were my THorn family. Isaac W Thorn was my great grandfather . John and Robert were his brothers. They actually bought land in Jackson Co and Vinton Co Ohio. But they are brothers. I wouldn't be surprised if Jacob wasn't related. He isn't a brother to any of my Thorn's as all of John Thorn b 1848 Va sons were mentioned in land transactions in Prince William Co Va where their father John gave them all land. I have always wondered about Jacob and maybe his relationship. He actually bought land in Jackson Co if I recall correctly. Have you tried the Va census in 1790 1800 1810 ? Keep in touch.
