My wife was born a Thompson in Sioux City IA. Her Great Grandfather was Henry E Thompson born in Norway and came to America where He settled in Wisconsin before moving to Iowa in Cherokee. I am trying to find my notes, but I know the family did not come directly from Norway, but I believe it was Britan.
