I descend from Samuel THOMPSON, b. abt 1728, Spotsylvania CoVA, who m. 1752 Anne "Nancy" JENNINGS, b. abt 1736, possibly Nottoway CoVA, d. 1811, buried in Pittsylvania CoVA. I believe Samuel was the son of Samuel THOMPSON, b. 31 Dec 1691, Ayrshire, Scotland, d. Louisa CoVA, 28 Aug 1753, and married abt. 1717, Mary McDonald. Samuel and Nancy's eldest son was Jennings THOMPSON, b. Dec 1761 in Amelia CoVA, d. 1845?, Pittsylvania CoVA, Revolutionary War veteran; m. 08 Sept 1890, Elizabeth STREET.
