    1. [THOMPSON] Death of Clifford Frank Thompson
    2. It is with sadness and a sense of loss that I am posting the obituary of my distant Thompson cousin, Clifford Frank Thompson. Cliff and I met, as do many cousins, through this Thompson Mailing List. He is the one who provided THE key to the Thompson side of my family. All I knew was that my gg grandfather was Enoch Thompson, born in SC abt 1806. Cliff told me who these Thompsons were, and opened a whole new world of relatives for me! Cliff's kindness and generosity epitomized what these genealogical sharing lists and sites are all about. Cliff and I were 4th cousins. His gg grandfather, Elijah Thompson born 1804 in Pendleton District, SC, and my gg grandfather, Enoch Thompson born 1806 in Pendleton District, SC were brothers. They had eleven other siblings. Their parents were William Thompson and Emily "Milly" Hammitt. The family moved to Adams County, IL in about 1815. Anyone related to these Thompsons is welcome to contact me.
