He was a Confederate Soldier from Russell County, VA. Born 1843 and died 1899 in West Virginia. Wife was Nancy Dorthea McCloud. There are so many William Thompsons who were soldiers during the Civil War, I am having a hard time finding his enlistment date, regiment information, etc..
