My brick wall happens to be Gordon Thompson ( possible first name is Howard). He told his children he was from Va. He was born in 1836 and died in 1864 during the civil war. He settled down in Mercer Co, WV/VA. He married Louisa Bailey and fathered 5 children 4 girls and his son ( my great grandfather was named James Alexander Thompson) This about all the info I have on him. I don't know who his parents are or if he has siblings though I think he did as there was a letter to someone he called brother. I'm hoping you or anyone who reads this post will know something.
