If you will contact me at joyce_jackson61@yahoo.com I will send you an invite to my tree. I have family sources through a family Bible up to James (1794) in Virginia, USA. The rest is from other folks in Ancestry. If I am correct on the oldest line my James (1698) married a Mary Towes in Yorkshire and they immigrated to American and settled in Virginia. I would love to go further back and see if and when he came from Scotland. My Dad always said he was Scotish. When you receive the invitation just start with the "home person" and continue to click on the Thompsons. You will find Peter the most interesting (click on his story). I intend to write a story connecting the line when I get through with my searching. You will also find interesting information under James (1698) "Historical Information". It seems they bought and sold a lot of land in the mountains of Virginia. This is a simply bea! utiful mountain area. It looks like they first fought the Indians and then John his son was in the Revoluntionary War. Later they moved to Illionis and then my clan settled in Missouri where I was born. Yes, they were a very tight family and usually a large family. My Dad had 8 siblings. His parents died very early and he raised himself as a bell hop in a local hotel. My line was very tight with the Bledsoe family and some Fugates from Virginia. They moved around together and married within the Bledsoe and Fugate families. All of this has been researched well. What I don't have is the English history. I would love to be able to find the immigration papers or boat that James and Mary came across in. I am still hunting that. Good to hear from you. Let me know if I can help in any way. I would like to see your tree also. Joyce Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
