JONES, residing in Captain Spark's District, in Jasper County, Georgia, prior to the 1827 Georgia Land Lottery and subsequently, the successful bid winner of Land Lot 50, District 10, of Troup County, Georgia? Was this John E. JONES the same 'JOHN E. JONES' who on 2 May 1835, Page 13, as the appointed guardian of Levi THOMPSON, minor orphan of Henry THOMPSON, late of Jasper County, Georgia, sold to Martin King, 1/5 part of Land Lot 47, in the 24th District of then [2] Muscogee County, Georgia, [later, Talbot County, GA], [which had been formerly awarded to the orphans of Henry THOMPSON, of Captain Spark's District], in Jasper county, Land Lot 47, Section 24, [2] Muscogee County, at public sale on the 1st Tuesday of May 1836, for $100. Martin King was the highest bidder, [for this approximate 40.5 acres land] witnessed by James Stallings & C. R. Wynn, JP? Was this John E. JONES, husband of Thuzza THOMPSON, of Butts County, a brother-in-law to the following: [Rev. Charles] Chesley 'Chestley' THOMPSON, [residing in Captain Spark's District, in Jasper County, 1827 & later, circa 1830, husband of Mary Ann 'Polly' HUDGENS]; Snowden THOMPSON, [husband of Ollie S. MITCHELL, of Butts County, Georgia]; youngest brother, Levi THOMPSON; possibly Vincent THOMPSON [husband of Morning/Mourning Mayo]; among other siblings? Was this John E. JONES the son-in-law of the late Henry THOMSON/THOMPSON, of Jasper County, Georgia, [will probated/1817, Jasper County, Georgia], whose 'orphans of Henry Thompson, of Captain Spark's District, Jasper County, Georgia' were the successful bid winners of Land Lot 47, in District 24, of then, Muscogee County, Georgia, which later became part of Talbot County, Georgia? This Land Lot 47, District 24, in Muscogee was subsequently sold in portions of fifths, of some 40.5 acres each part, thereby inferring some five [5] orphans did benefit from proceeds of the sale of this original land lot... ~ On 6 December 1831, Jones County, Georgia. Chesley THOMPSON, one of the legatees of Henry [HUMPHRIES]THOMPSON, late of Jasper County, Georgia, sold to Martin KING, 41.5 acres of land, orginally part of Land Lot 47, District 24, for $50, witnessed by SNOWDEN THOMPSON & Jacob Pruitt, JP. SCOGGINS, inferred by the sale of the following 1/5 of this original Land Lot 47? On 11 Mar 1835, Warren C. SCOGGINS sold to Martin KING, 1/5 part of a Land Lot 47, District 24, drawn by the orphans [of Capt. Spark's District, Jasper County, GA] of Henry THOMPSON, late of Jasper County, Georgia.
