Robert Lee Thompson's father was Richard Thompson, m (1) Rosa McLean & (2) Townsend. Family reports that Richard was killed while on duty as a Sheriff in Lumberton, NC. We have found no information about Richard and while I know this a long shot, the names, Ernest & Blanche,and the general location raise my interest.
