Thompson; loving mother of John Thompson and his wife, Diane, of Philadelphia; dear grandmother of Miranda Garcia, Shane, Lauren and Mark Thompson; great-grandmother of Lena; sister of Mary Salopek. Ruth is also survived by her nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday only, at the THOMAS L. NIED FUNERAL HOME INC., 7441 Washington St., Swissvale.
