He was born (not sure where) between 1752-1759. He was a veteran of the Rev. War and his pension papers say that he enlisted in the State Troops in August 1776 and was stationed at Tygart's Valley. Later, they marched to Winchester where he enlisted in the 12th Va. Reg't in April 1777. He was a private in the company commanded by Capt. Michael Bowyer, Col. James Wood's Reg't. His pension number was S36826 and he was discharged at Salisbury, NC in 1781. I would very much like to learn who his parents were and where he lived before the war. As a possible clue, a pension statement from John Slaven Jr says that he (Slaven) elisted in this same company in Augusta County in the later part of 1776. They rendezvoused at Staunton and then marched to the Tygart Valley. Any information would be greatly appreciated. my email address is: cscott@embarqmail.com Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
