I know nothing about his parents except what is on his marriage certificate dated Dec 1907. It was registered in Richmmond, Yorkshre. He is 31 on it and his father is named as Joseph Thompson too,(not deceased). His residence was Scorton. They ended up around North Ormesby, Middlesbrough, Yorkshire where my nan was born in 1921. I have three death certificates for Joseph Thompson none of which are his! In the censuses the only one makes sense has father as James Thompson. My Nan said her Dad was from Osmotherley near Northallerton and was on a farm. His wife Mary Thompson nee Scott died Feb 24 1947 and my Dad reckons he died after that.
