His father's name was Robert and his mother's was Anna (Rudland or Root). He stowed away on a ship when he was about 12 and landed some where in Canada. At that time he was enrolled in a Catholic Boys School until he was old enough to work for the ship he had stowed away on. He eventually moved to Michigan and settled in Gladwin marrying Arminda Gray. Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated.
