It took me years to find my Thompson's from South Carolina. They left there and went to Greene County, Alabama, where by some strange miracle I found them. Be sure and research any lateral families or names. I found mine by researching the husband of one of the sisters. He was in Greene County, and 'lo and behold, there was the Thompson family. It is hard when it is such a common name, I know. Try posting it on Genforum, if you have not already. I have had many responses from queries there. Good luck!
