Author: MilisiaHanlin Surnames: THOMPSON, Edmiston, Greer Classification: will Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.thompson/16585.1.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: "Will Of James THOMPSON State of South Carolina In the Name of God Amen I James Thompson of the District of York & State of South Carolina being Sick & Weak in body but of per- fect mind & Memory thanks be to God for the same Calling to Mind the Mortality of my Body & Knowing that it was appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this my Last Will & Testament that is to say principally & first of all I Recommend my soul to God Who gave it & my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a Decent Christian like Manner at the Discretion Of my Exr,s Nothing doubting but at the general Resurrection I shall receive the same again by the Mighty Power of God and as touching such world estate as it has pleased God to bless me with in this life I give Demise & dispose of the same in Manner following First of all I allow my Just debts & funeral expenses to be paid out of my estate 2'ly I will and bequeath unto my brother Nathaniel Thompson my claim of a Certain tract or percel of land lying and being in the State of North Carolina Bunkham County butru Creek commonly known by the name of the cove containing fifty acres Likewise fifty dollars Deducting whatever act he may have against my estate out of the fifty dollars 3'dly I will and bequeath unto my Sister Mary Ann Edmiston Five Dollars to be paid at the expiration of one year from this present date 4thly I will and bequeath unto my brother Moses Thompson one Hundred Dollars to be paid at the expiration of four years from this present date 5thly I will and bequeath unto my Brother Samuel Thompson Two hundred Dollars to be be paid at the expiration of four years from this present dat Likewise two Hundred dollars to be paid at the."
