John originated from Debenham, in Suffolk, and Elizabeth was born in London "City Road". But I have a note from my grandfather that Elizabeth was a "descendant of the Rumsey family of Debenham". Does anyone know anything about this? There were a few Rumseys in Debenham, but I can't find any link to a Thompson family. I don't know who Elizabeth's parents were - there are several candidates but nothing conclusive. Does anyone know ANYTHING about her?! Any help would be most gratefully received.
