I don't find those names or connections in my tree at the moment but that is certainly no guarantee that they are not part of my line. There are almost as many Thompsons in north GA as there are Smiths. I have traced one line back to VA and one back to PA. Mine seems to go back to John Thompson, a hatter's apprentice in Philadelphia and a Revolutionary Soldier who migrated to NC, married Christiana Redwine, daughter of a German immigrant (Reidwyl) from PA, and then moved to Madison, GA. Had son, John Thompson, who married Nancy Scarborough (dau of Frederick Scarborough) and lived in Clarke County, GA. Son Fredric Thompson left Clarke, GA and moved to Paulding, GA right before the Civil War. Other siblings remained in Clarke County, while at least one moved to Arkansas (descendants in TX). Others may have moved around in GA. My ggGrandfather Harrison Thompson from Paulding died in Civil War when my gGrandfather, Frederick Porter Thompson, was only about 5 years old. Paulding is where most of my close Thompson line remained more or less until 1900s. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
