I'm so excited to see a Thompson post that may connect to my Thompsons! My gg grandfather, Enoch Thompson had a close sister, Orpha Thompson (were 4 years apart). Orpha married John Griffin Richardson. In 1852 Orpha and John and their family and much of their extended family migrated from IL to Linn Co. OR.
