This was quite liberated for that time given Roberts hatch's daughter's name was Mary Anne Yeates Thompson Hatch she was born in bt 1832. Remember that my Robert hatch was a baker in Newry Down, (so William as a miller would fit in )and the Thompson's lived next door, given deeds we researched when Robert sold his bakery to a Malcolmson in 1830 (connected to the Mcbrides, Martins etc) I think there is a definite connection to the original Scots/Irish plantation settlers documented on the Ards Peninsular Website by Mary Becker Check it out loads of Thompsons some spelt Thomson Hatchs and Mcbrides intermarried with them to 1650's some Hatches an Mcbrides are still farming in Ballkycranbeg with farms next to each other. It is likely they were the same family or relations of Mary Ann Thompson 1805 who married Robert hatch 1805 Robert married Mary Ann (1807) in 1828 in Newry. I found a Sophia Yeates who we think was probably maryanne's mother born about 1785 in Newry on old Newry records on LDS from Crossley records there One of the hatches a James was is in Upper Chapel St Newry in 1830's a cabinet maker This also means also that we are probably related-did you see the John Yates in 1820 clothes seller- also listed in my notes did I include these john may be from Thompson and co see below Thompson James Master of Bridewell & Court House 1856 Thompson Sarah Eliza 25 New Row Milliner & Dressmaker & Straw Bonnet Maker 1856 Thompson, Son & Co.
