I hope you have some excellent Y chromosome DNA matches to some other Mr. Thompsons, whether or not those matches are the descendants of Hazard Thompson (born about 1814) and his relative Abraham Thompson (born about 1776) or the descendant of Reverend John Thom(p)son. By the way, I see where the father of Judge John McNairy was a Francis McNairy, and when Francis wrote his Will (in NC, as I recall), a John Thompson was a witness. Judge John McNairy was apparently the father of the Catherine McNairy who married Jason Thompson (the father of the first/older Jason Hazard Thompson). Perhaps the John Thompson who was a witness on the Will of Francis McNairy was related in some way to those other Thompsons. In my opinion, it would be quite a coincidence if your later/younger Jason Hazard Thompson was not related to the earlier/older Jason Hazard Thompson....but as I like to say, "genealogy is always trying to fool us."
