I have been looking at a family tree of Moses R. and Catharine Hite Thompson. It lists a William J. Thompson born abt 1826. This William married Sarah Bryant and moved to Pike County, Arkansas. It also lists another William W. Thompson born abt 1829. This William married Margaret Ferguson and moved to Saline County, Arkansas. Can these 2 really be brothers? Why would parents name 2 sons the same name born so close together? Does anyone know which William belongs to Moses and Catherine? Thanks.
