If you search for Alexander Thomson on ancestry you will see a tree called MS Haneys and LA Thompsons. This is my tree. You can see every thing I have on Alexander and his relatives. I spell his last name without the "p" because that is the way his father signed is name on his will. Alexander had a uncle named John but he died in 1749. As far as I know he did not have a brother named John but he did have at least 4 other brothers, so I wonder if your John could have been one of their children. I have very little info on Alexander's siblings. You can see land documents for Alexander as he moved from PA to NC to GA on my tree. I hope this helps.
