Thompson and his wife Harriett Gardiner who lived in Terre Haute, Indiana. I have a newspaper article that was amongst my Mother's possessions when she passed away. Richard Thompson was a distinguished citizen of Terre Haute, Indiana. He was a tall=ented attorney, was elected to the Indiana Senate in 1836 and was appointed lieutenant governor during the administration of Governor Noble. He was also a U.
