They were apparently "planted" in Northern Ireland by the English king James I(also James VI of Scotland-Mary Queen of Scots son).So many left No.Ireland before 1800 and came to No.America,possibly to Quebec also.It is a long story. That i think ,account for my family. We tend to have a thin face and dark hair.Lines on our faces as we age.Large ears too.
