    1. [THOMPSON] Charles Henry Thompson 1850? - 1933
    2. Ryan Thompson
    3. I am looking for information on my GGGrandfather, Charles Henry Thompson. The information I have from his Death Certificate and Obituary has his place of Birth as East London about 1850. He immigrated to Newfoundland at some point with his family where he met and Married a Mary Ann Norcott of St. John's. She was born about 1865 and died in 1944. At some point around 1884 the family immigrated from St. John's Newfoundland to Pictou Nova Scotia where they lived out the remainder of their Lives. Unfortunately I have been unable to obtain any marriage records pointing me in the direction of either of their parents. I would appreciate any help that can be given with this. I would also like to get in touch with someone who could do a look up at The Rooms in St. John's for me. Thanks all, Ryan

    2. You can obtain the birth record of Charles Henry Thompson, born in East London in 1850 from the Public Records Office in London, citing the following reference: Name: Charles Henry Thompson Year of Registration: 1850 Quarter of Registration: Oct-Nov-Dec District: East London County: London, Middlesex Volume: 2 Page: 243 I hove done this several times for railway engineers, and have found the cost to be modest, and well worth the price! I hope this helps. Jay Underwood Elmsdale NS Coming soon: "Fleming's Army: The civil engineers who built the Intercolonial Railway" From Railfare*DC Books.
