This appeared in the June 10, 1875 issue of the Rockland (Maine) Gazette in the "Thomaston" column: "Henry Thompson, a lad five years old, son of one of the proprietors of the Thomaston Accommodation, in attempting, with some other scholars, (returning home from school on Monday last) to jump on to a gebogan, fell on to the ground, bruising him severely.
