There are approximately 40 blacks in the household. The first 4 blacks, Peter James, Dicey James, William James and Peter James are my ancestors. I believe they probably were Thomas's slaves before the war and were still there as sharecroppers in the 1870s. I can't find out anything about Thomas or the James before or after except they changed their name from James to Richardson. Thanks for any help you can give me.
