I need help to determine if I have this information correct. I recently had my family finder/autosomal DNA tested trying to locate my grandmother's family and confirmed suspicions that her adoptive father William Sterrett was her real father. In doing so I've found the Thompson-Arbuckle connection but beyond that it gets confusing. I have Margaret Thompson 1715-1760 and James Arbuckle 1713-1783 married in Scotland in 1738. Margaret's parents are listed as William Thompson and Esther Davidson; they apparently divorced and he married Sarah Evans. William's parents are listed as William Archibald Thompson and Marie Margaret Milne. W.A.'s parents are listed as William Thompson and Mary Fordyce. This William Thompson's parents are William Thompson and Jannet Hay. Which takes me to him being born 1600 in Midlothian Scotland. Is this correct? Thanking you in advance for your help.
