Webster, age 91, of Prattsburgh, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 with her family by her side. Born in Canisteo, NY, on June 16, 1919, she was daughter to the late Robert and Lenora (Flint) Thompson. She worked as an Avon representative and happily kept the local folks stocked with the latest beauty supplies and trinkets. For Goldie, family unity and harmony was the heart of her life. She was motivated to serve and as a loving matriarch, she nurtured and guided her loved ones while giving them all room to grow as individuals. With a soft smile and gracious nature, she had a remarkable capacity to contently put matters that were out of her control into God's hands and had always been able to take every situation as it came through this practice. She was an actively involved member of the Prattsburgh United Methodist Church for many years. Goldie was preceded in death by her first husband, Earl Hoose in 1962, as well as her second husband, Harold Webster in 1988. She is survived by her children: Lenora (George) Applebee and Lester (Rebecca) Hoose; Grandchildren: Jody (Karen) Applebee, Mark (Jody) Applebee, Brenda Applebee, Lester Hoose, Stephen (Deborah) Hoose, Timothy (Bonnie) Hoose, Tammy (Neal) Robbins, Carrie (Toby) Malone, Cathy Golda, Laurie (Randy) Mc-Connell, Kevin (Karen) Stryker, Jason Stryker, Daniel (Katrina) Stryker, Patti (Travis) Farmer; son-in-law, Dan (Andrea) Stryker; as well as 37 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. She Always held close to her heart the memory of her daughter, Hazel Stryker, who passed in 1995. Also preceding her was her step-son, Marvin Hoose; brothers: Isaiah Thompson, Lester Thompson, David Thompson; and step-father, Harvey Armstrong. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 19, from 1-3 PM at the Prattsburgh United Methodist Church, located at 9 Porter St., Prattsburgh. A Resurrection of Life Service will immediately follow. Interment will take place at Prattsburgh Rural Cemetery sometime in the spring at the family's convenience. For all wishing to do so, in lieu of flowers, please consider making contributions in her memory to the Prattsburgh UMC at the above address. Arrangements have been made by Bottoni-Wood Funeral Home, 4 Mechanic St., Prattsburgh, NY 14873. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
