Holiday greetings to the list, I am trying to track down my GGG grandparents home in Ireland. The death certificate of my GG grandfather Henry Thompson stated his parents were both from Ireland, no location listed. His parents names were Henry Thompson and Eleanor Mc Cullock, aka Hannah E. Mc Cullock, nicknamed “Nellie”. I know there are many spelling variations for Mc Cullock and this is probably the Americanized verision for MCCulloch although Mc Cullock was the spelling on the birth notice in 1803. I do not know of any middle initial for either grandfather. GGG grandfather Henry Thompson, was born circa 1747 in Ireland, and I estimate Eleanor’s birth between 1755 and 1765. They arrived in the USA in 1801, and had nine children, most of them born in Ireland and I only have information on two of them. GG grandfather Henry b 4 May 1803, Montgomery, Orange County, New York (birth notice is from Grahm’s United Presbyterian Church, Pine Bush, Orange County, New York), is the only child I know who was born in the states and one of his sisters named Jane Thompson, born ca 1790, Ireland, married Robert Lawson January 11, 1810 in Good Will Presbyterian Church, Montgomery, Orange, New York, several unknown brothers and sisters. (from 1810 U. S. census) Most of my information is associated with Presbyterian Church records, but as far as I know, my grandfather, G grandfather and GG grandfather were Baptist. Maybe the Presbyterian Church’s were the only churches available at that time? There were many Thompson’s located in Orange Co. NY, in the early 1800’s, which is probably why mine settled there, perhaps brothers or cousins or in-laws. Any family information would be greatly appreciated.
