Author: llinde3 Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.thompson/7774.1.1.3.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.1.2/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi and my email is [email protected] I have learned my gggranddad and his wife, Benjamin and Mary Thompson were living in what is now Jefferson County,West Virginia in 1830.They had married in Washington County Maryland in 1828.I think those Thompsons originally came from Tazewell County ,Virginia (from "Thompson Valley")or from Dutchess County New York where there are lots of Thompsons.Ben sd in every Federal Census that he was from"Virginia" and in 1830 that county was in Virginia.
