Some records show his mother to be named Rutha?? To me, a five year old would not know his mother's first name. If she was alive, she just might have had no way to support the children. A Rutha Thompson married Job Wilkins in Clarke County in June of 1818. On the 1820 census, They had one child, some slaves, some unnaturalized persons living in their home in Clark County, Ga. But after that they dropped off the scene. In 1834 a Job Wilkin married a Mary Summers, but I can find no further record. I have checked all the on-line cemeteries in Clarke County for a Thompson who died in 1807 with no luck. I've even put on queries for descendants of the other children who might have hit the same wall. If you have any luck, please keep in touch.
